Learn More About Eco Materials

Who is Eco Materials? We are an innovative, forward-thinking company based in Philadelphia, PA that is dedicated to promoting sustainability and protecting the environment.

Eco Materials was founded in 2022 with a simple mission:

Provide a safe and clean alternative for the disposal of construction site waste that’s environmentally friendly, sustainable, and financially responsible.

Since then, we’ve made tremendous progress towards launching our Eco Materials Wash Plant for the Philadelphia Region, which is slated to open in March 2025! The new Eco Materials Wash Plant is the first of its kind in our region, offering an economical and eco-friendly way for local construction companies to dispose of their construction or excavation site waste.

At Eco Materials, we’re dedicated to creating quality sand and aggregate materials by renewing materials that would otherwise be slated for a landfill. We do this in a way that positively impacts the environment, creating a better tomorrow for the entire planet.

Whether you’re in construction, landscaping, or developing land as an excavator, we’re here to provide you with a superior alternative to hauling dirt and/or fill to a far away landfill. Bring it to Eco Materials instead, and we will turn it into perfectly good, PADEP approved renewed materials for use in new construction projects.

By using cutting-edge technologies and innovative processes, Eco Materials is helping to transform the construction industry and pave the way for a more sustainable future.

What is the Eco Materials Wash Plant?

The Eco Materials Wash Plant is a revolutionary facility designed to reclaim and repurpose sand, aggregate materials, and construction site waste. Through our environmentally friendly wet process utilizing reclaimed stormwater, the plant will clean and sort soil, regenerating more than 85% of inbound material for use in new asphalt and concrete products.

The plant will produce clean washed 3/8th stone, clean washed 3/4th stone, C33 concrete sand, and fine mason sand. We can also adjust the screens and classification equipment on an as needed basis. Eco Materials will continuously process inbound soil from our customer base, with all outbound materials meeting strict PADEP standards.

What Does a Wash Plant Do?

The Eco Materials Wash Plant is a specialized facility designed to remove impurities, contaminants, and unwanted materials from sand, gravel, rocks, and other aggregate materials.

The primary purpose of the wash plant is to produce clean, high-quality sand and aggregate materials for use in new construction projects, landscaping, and other applications.

Appropriately named, Eco Materials seeks to change the way Philadelphia construction and demolition companies dispose of waste materials from their construction sites, simultaneously doing it in a way that is better for the environment and the planet.

Why the Need for a Wash Plant?

The Eco Materials soil wash facility will divert a significant amount of material from reaching landfills, which are notoriously bad for the environment, as they don’t shrink over time, while limited building materials and resources do. When companies bury building materials in landfills, they simply take up space and contribute to the ever-growing problem of waste management.

In contrast, sustainable resources like renewed or repurposed building materials can be used again and again, conserving natural resources and reducing waste. We’ll offer a sustainable alternative to traditional soil disposal, significantly reducing the industry’s environmental impact. It’s a win-win!
