Who is Eco Materials?
Eco Materials is a new, forward-thinking company based in Philadelphia, PA that is dedicated to promoting sustainability and protecting the environment.
Eco Materials was founded in 2022 by partners Andrew Paluszkiewicz and Ken Griffin, with a mission to provide a safe and clean alternative for the disposal of construction site waste that’s environmentally friendly, sustainable, and financially responsible.
Since then, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring our latest project to life: the Eco Materials Wash Plant.
The Eco Materials Wash Plant, located on Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia, is an innovative, state-of-the-art soil wash facility providing a safe and eco-friendly option for local development and remediation companies to dispose of their construction and excavation site waste.
The environmentally-friendly wash plant will utilize proven technologies and methods for reclaiming and reusing materials that would otherwise be discarded in a landfill.
Our Impact
The Eco Materials soil wash facility will divert a significant amount of material from reaching landfills. In turn, we’ll offer a sustainable alternative to traditional soil disposal, significantly reducing the industry’s environmental impact.
At full capacity, we will divert up to 700k tons of material per year from landfills, which are major sources of methane gas, by cleaning and reusing contaminated soil. By reusing existing soil, we’ll reduce the need to mine for materials like sand and stone, which disrupts ecosystems and increases greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the water used for cleaning is reused in a closed-loop system, minimizing water usage and related environmental impacts.
Strategically positioning our facility on Passyunk Ave. in South Philadelphia will reduce transportation and fuel consumption, as local teams won’t have to travel to both dispose of and purchase materials from current providers located outside of city limits.
